Jonah and Elliott are extremely different in many ways. One of which is how they slept during their first 10 months of life.
As a baby, Elliott had severe colic 24/7 for nearly six months. He had a terrible time sleeping. Thank goodness for vacuum cleaners! Their sound was the only thing that eventually lulled him to sleep. But, even then, it was after a lot of screaming. When the colic finally ended, we needed the sleep clinic's help to establish a healthy sleep pattern for Elliott.
No help was needed for Jonah. Things were a little rough in the beginning, but it was mainly because we couldn't recognize his clear sleep signals. And that was mainly because we couldn't believe he needed 11-12 hours sleep at night and could only be up 60-90 minutes between naps!
Jonah will be 10 months on January 13 and he is just now transitioning from three to two naps. Of course he occasionally has off days. But today, as is more typical, my good sleeper took two two-hour naps. That gave me four uninterrupted hours with Elliott. It was a happy day at Grandma Daycare :-)
