Our gift exchange happens on Christmas Eve after lunch. So today I've been cleaning and. . .
. . .setting the table. . . |
. . .and filling the stockings. . . |
. . .and placing gifts under the tree. . . |
. . .and on the hearth. |
Every year our guests find a favor under the Santa hat on their plate. This year everyone's getting a Mrs. Prindables caramel-and-chocolate-covered apple. They're bigger than favors of past years, so the Santa hat is sitting askew on top.
The blue boxes on the hearth are art cases for the grandsons. Each case is filled with markers, colored pencils, crayons, a ruler, a tape runner, a pad of construction paper, and a ream of copy paper. They will stay at our house under the bed in the boys's room. Now each boy will be well equipped for creative play when they visit.
A December Daily typically ends with Christmas Day, so that's my plan with my blog version. I have to say it's been an enlightening exercise. I truly had no idea before that every day from December 1-25 includes some sort of holiday activity.
