It's been cool for a couple of weeks now. So cold, in fact, we've been running the heater in the house again. And, today, we're getting a steady rain, making it feel even chillier.
During those warm weeks in March and April, it was tempting to begin planting annuals and vegetable gardens. But, based on years of experience, I had decided this year not to start planting until May. As a result, I avoided the chore of having to cover young plants during recent freeze warnings. Sometimes wisdom really does come with age!
