Today Elliott and I met dad at Bethesda around 10:30 A.M. It was a wasted trip. Mom was sound asleep, snoring peacefully in her bed.
Although mom's cognitive and mobility levels have been the same for months, her sleep pattern would indicate that the disease is indeed progressing. She's now sleeping more than half the day. And, as a result, eating and moving less and less.
Several years ago mom said she would die at 80 years old. Her "reasoning" was that she would not live longer than her dad did. Grandpa died within weeks of his 80 birthday. Mom will be 80 in April. Time will tell.
